The BBF generates a space open to everyone, to those who are just starting out in the world of craft beer and to those who never have enough, and always want to learn more about what is done here and beyond our borders, so we are preparing some unique and exclusive activities that will surprise you. Don’t miss it!
 
Remember that to access and enjoy the activities, you need a ticket for the Barcelona Beer Festival. Without it, you will not be able to enter the venue.

Do you dare to explore new gastronomic horizons? Just León, a pioneer in the industrialization of spherification, along with the creators of L’Estupenda and Senglaris beers, invite you to a unique pairing of beers and Spherika’s creations. We’ll combine craft beers with spheres of intense and subtle flavors. An experience you can’t miss!

Birramisú experience

Friday, 1pm 12€ “Birramisú experience: A sensory journey with Montse Virgili”

Immerse yourself in the world of authentic flavors from Masia Agullons, guided by Montse Virgili, whose traditional cuisine is as renowned as their craft beers. In this activity, Montse will prepare her famous Birramisú, a dessert that combines the sweetness of tiramisu with the unique character of selected beers. We’ll enjoy this dish paired with a selection of beers that enhance its nuances. An experience that pays tribute to tradition and flavor.

La Llacuna in the glass

Experience a unique gastronomic journey between two companies from La Llacuna (Anoia). We’ll pair Mallart Cured Meats, produced under the inclusive project of Mas Albornà, with Màger Craft Beers. Discover how the intense and well-balanced flavors of the cured meats perfectly blend with the complexity and freshness of the beers. Diversification in D.O. Sidras del País Vasco

A tasting journey through the different types of ciders, where we invite you to explore the diversification of ciders protected by the D.O. Sidras del País Vasco. Enjoy an exceptional tasting of 4 international beers that are part of Estrella Galicia’s extensive beer catalog. Aula Gastronómica BBF25

Saturday, 6pm 10€ “Aula Gastronómica BBF25: Euskadi, A Multicolored Gastronomic Land – A Sensory Journey with Basque Beer”

Euskadi is a land where gastronomy intertwines with culture, colors, and flavors. Discover the vibrant palette of different Basque Beer brews paired with Basque foods, and experience new sensations. The tasting is led by Vicente Álvarez, Beer Sommelier and Vice President of the Spanish Sommelier and Beer Culture Association. With his extensive knowledge and passion for beer, Vicente will guide you through the characteristics of each beer style and the magic of how they complement and enhance the flavors of the most iconic Basque dishes.

Polish brews & bites experience

Saturday, 7pm 9€ ACTIVITY IN ENGLISH “Polish brews & bites experience”

Discover the beer culture of Poland with four breweries showcasing their beers: Nepo, Cztery Sciany, Rockmill, and BirbantTaste. Enjoy four unique varieties paired with typical Polish products, while the creators share the stories and processes behind each brew. Connect with Polish brewing traditions through talks and anecdotes in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Join a special tasting of three unique IPAs, crafted by friends of Alegría: Castelló Beer Factory, San Frutos, and Cierzo. These beers were created as a gesture of support following the floods that affected the Alegría brewery. Accompany their brewer Guillermo Herrera, who will share his experience and present his book Beer for a While! Discover the stories behind these beers, enjoy their flavors, and take part in an activity filled with beer passion, friendship, and great company.

Vinyataires lliures

Sunday, 2pm 9€ “Vinyataires lliures: Four wines, four lands”

Vinyataires Lliures invites you to a talk about their project and a tasting of four wines, each crafted in their reference regions: Girona – Alella, Barcelona, Northern Tarragona – Lleida, and Conca de l’Ebre. This activity will allow you to discover how the diversity of each territory is reflected in its wines and enjoy a unique experience at a beer festival.

Beer, Cider, and Cheese

Sunday, 2pm 10€ “Beer, Cider, and Cheese: The Perfect Pairing”

We invite you to a unique event where we explore the perfect pairing of three fundamental pillars of Basque gastronomy: Euskal Gazta cheeses, Basque Beer brews, and D.O. Euskal Sagardoa ciders. In this activity, you'll learn how to combine these local products so that their flavors complement and enhance each other, creating a sensory experience that will delight your palate. Our experts will guide you through this fascinating journey, demonstrating how different types of cheese can pair wonderfully with various beers and ciders.

Judges for a day

Sunday, 3pm 6€ “Judges for a day: The beer challenge”

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a judge in a beer competition? Now’s your chance! During this activity, you’ll become a beer judge and put your palate to the test with a selection of craft beers brewed by Cyclic, Meta, and Blacklab. Guided by a National judge, you’ll learn how to evaluate their aroma, flavor, texture, and appearance, and your opinion will be key to deciding the favorite. A fun and educational experience where you’re the star. Are you ready to take on the challenge?

Friday, 10:30am EXCLUSIVE ACTIVITY FOR THE PROFESSIONAL: “Flavors in flames: How to balance spiciness with beer”

Are you a spice lover? Or maybe you can’t handle it? Don’t worry! Jordi Lloberol from the restaurant "Casa Güell" and Edgar Rodríguez will teach you how to manage those spicy sensations on your palate. We’ll explore options to pair it, calm it, or even enhance it in a session that will allow us to discover how our palate works.

Friday, 11:30am EXCLUSIVE ACTIVITY FOR THE PROFESSIONAL: “The language of flavors: The science of pairings in haute cuisine”

In this session, we’ll explore and unravel how avant-garde restaurants use specific techniques and "Savoir-faire" to create pairings. Albert Señor, head waiter at the Quirat restaurant, will reveal what they look for in a liquid to interpret a pairing and how they execute it, learning from haute cuisine’s methods of working.

Join Juan Fernández on a journey through the 15-year history of MALTE, a benchmark in beer culture in our country. From a small venue in A Coruña to becoming a project with three innovative and award-winning spaces, MALTE has shown that beer is not just a drink, but a gastronomic engine. Discover their philosophy of quality and experimentation, and enjoy the presentation of 'Xafastre', a Wild Ale aged in Chardonnay barrels, reflecting the fusion of tradition, innovation, beer passion, and friendship.

Cachitos, part of the Costa Este group, is a benchmark for Mediterranean gastronomy in Barcelona and a true declaration of love for cooking and the culture of sharing. At the helm of its kitchens is chef Lluís Rosich, whose passion for seasonal produce and respect for authentic flavors shape every dish. Join us on this gastronomic journey, where Kike Ojanguren from 12 Graus and the brewers from Reptilian, Juguetes Perdidos, Brebel, and Lambicus will reveal a world of unexpected flavors and surprising textures. Discover how craft beer can transform cooking in this showcooking with Juan Fernández, creator of MALTE, a benchmark in liquid fermentation culture and quality gastronomy with beer at its core. Through two surprising creations, we’ll explore how beer not only pairs but also adds unique nuances to dishes, enhancing flavors and textures with a distinctly Atlantic perspective. Saturday, 10:30am 15€: “Slow-cooked Beer! Cooking with Beer Options!”

The kitchen is a laboratory where experiments are tasted. Taking advantage of the fact that this year Catalonia is the World Region of Gastronomy, we offer you this show cooking session in which Toni Romero from "Bart Gastroburger" will show us the different possibilities of using beer in the kitchen, teaching us how we can incorporate it into various cooking methods to appreciate different nuances depending on how it's used.

Enjoy an excellent tasting with the 1906 family of beers from Estrella Galicia alongside four of the most renowned and valued Galician cheeses. Beer and cheese, cheese and beer—there’s little more you could ask for to delight your palate with a magnificent local tasting. The tasting will be led by Unai López, Beer Culture Technician at Estrella Galicia.

Saturday, 1:30pm 6€: “Traditional Beer Brewing Techniques”

Using 2 beers as a guiding thread and in a creative context, we’ll directly explore some traditional beer brewing techniques from Northern Europe and evaluate their integration into modern processes. We’ll end with a third tasting of one of the most characteristic styles of contemporary craft beer. Xavier Tortosa will show you historical museum pieces and interact with you in an activity full of beer culture.

Taste of Flanders: Live Cooking with Beer

Saturday, 2:30pm €5: “Taste of Flanders: Live Cooking with Beer”

Wim Ballieu (Balls & Glory), chef and entrepreneur of several restaurants known for his 2.0 farm-style Flemish cuisine and meatballs, is coming to Barcelona for the BBF and will present another classic recipe from Flanders. Along with brewer Sven Dekleermaeker (Brouwerij Duvel Moortgat), he will prepare a very special stew that brings Flemish tradition into the present day. With the collaboration of Visit Flanders and the presentation by Ángeles Alonso-Misol, these two culinary masters will treat us to a dish and a beer that will take us on a journey to discover a flavorful Flanders.

Celebrating the 20th anniversary of “4Pedres,” David Moya offers you a unique sensory journey where the past comes to life through the magic of storytelling, live music, and the intense flavor of a porter beer. Let yourself be carried away by the stories “An Emperor in Wine Country” and “At Half Past Five,” two sips of history accompanied by the enveloping notes of guitarist Xavi Anguita and the vibrant rhythms of Edu and Marc from the band “INICI.” A multisensory experience that fuses art, music, and flavor on the same stage.
