Barcelona, December 2023

In the beer world, the friendship between festivals has forged strong bonds and fantastic shared experiences. A clear example is Bières et Saveurs, Quebec’s flagship festival, which has left its mark in Chambly, on the outskirts of Montreal, for over twenty years. The connection between this festival and ours was established in 2013, and just three years later, a collaboration began that still endures to this day. Bières et Saveurs annually brings the finest Quebecois beers to a booth at our festival. We, too, have shared our Catalan beers for five years at their festival, fostering lasting collaborations and friendships.

Among these friendships, there has always been a special understanding with the friends from Les Trois Mousquetaires. In the 2020 edition, which could not take place due to COVID-19, this globally renowned brewery was tasked with creating a special edition inspired by Barcelona, considered by

many as the world’s best Baltic Porter. They experimented with this beer, aging it in different barrels that had previously contained various liquors. For this special edition, they played with lactose and coffee, using lactose in the brewing process and adding coffee during the boiling process and later as Cold-brew. Despite the festival’s cancellation, the beer was brewed, and it could be purchased in bottles and tasted in some festival-friendly bars when COVID restrictions were lifted.

The Bières et Saveurs de Chambly festival, organized by CONCEPT B since 2002, has become Quebec’s largest craft beer celebration. Located at the historic national site of Fort-Chambly, along the Richelieu River, it attracts tens of thousands of visitors annually. The festive and relaxed atmosphere combines with the opportunity to taste products from over 110 exhibitors, including craft beers, ciders, meads, wines, and local products.

For the first time after the pandemic, we are proud to announce that Bières et Saveurs de Chambly will participate with a booth at BBF 2023. They will bring 6 breweries, an exceptional selection of the best beers from Quebec:

  • Lagabière: One of the most charming brewpubs in the world, on the banks of the Richelieu River, the sunsets are mind-blowing. From a joke by the regulars, “What can I get you? Pour me the best you’ve got!” Ta Meilleure was born, a NEIPA that is an explosion of tropical aromas.
  • Microbrasserie Jackalhop: Specialists in using wooden barrels, they present an aged version in whiskey barrels of their most famous beer, Indigo, with aromas of chocolate, vanilla, and roasted barley.
  • Microbrasserie Riverbend: Originating from Alma, a region closely tied to the river that runs through it, hence its name. They stand out with their Gose with Atlantic seaweed, a light German-style beer that will delight lovers of innovative beers.
  • LTM-Les Trois Mousquetaires: Internationally known, they bring their special edition 2022 Baltic Porter. Aged for 6 months in oak barrels containing bourbon and brandy. A strong black lager inspired by the Porters of the Baltic Sea region.
  • Noctem Artisans Brasseurs: Their devotion to cats is reflected in all their beers, which they always dedicate to felines. We recommend trying Brave Margot, a delicious milkshake IPA, and if you ever visit Quebec City, you definitely shouldn’t miss their wonderful brewpub. Ô Quai des Brasseurs: Making their debut at the BBF, we’re delighted to have them with us after visiting their brewpub that we loved. They are known for their NEIPAs, like La P’tite Floride and La Perle Noire, ask for them.
  • Microbrasserie Pit Caribou: One of the key breweries to understand the Craft Beer phenomenon in Quebec, we’re very pleased to have with us the iconic fisherman from their logo. They bring their best-seller, an Ambrée that is a true masterpiece. A round red beer with a taste of caramel accompanied by a light bitterness. This beer owes its name to the famous Bonaventure Island, visible from their brewery.

Once again, we are very happy to continue sharing and celebrating craft beer with our friends from Quebec. And we hope you are as excited as we are. Cheers and congratulations to the brewing spirit that transcends borders!
