During the last edition of the Purísima Fair in Sant Boi de Llobregat (6, 7 and 8 December 2024) a solidarity action was organised in support of the craft breweries of Valencia affected by the damage caused by the DANA. Thanks to the willingness of the organisation, the Sant Boi City Council, ExpoGestió and the local brewery BierBoi, a special stand was set up for the sale of the #CervezaSolidaria campaign, serving kegs provided by several craft breweries.
The solidarity action managed to raise 2,517 euros, which will go entirely to Cervezas Alegría, one of the Valencian breweries most affected by the floods. This initiative has been possible thanks to the joint work of all the parties involved, highlighting the breweries that gave kegs to the cause: Basqueland, Sitgetana, La Pirata, Ogham, Calavera, Dua, Juguetes Perdidos, Engorile, Montseny, Wylie, Reptilian, Orient, Newaza, Rec and Bierboi.
The #CervezaSolidaria stand was very well received and was one of the most frequented, especially on Friday. On Saturday and Sunday the strong wind even caused the closure of the fair for a few hours by the Civil Protection, which meant that there was a smaller influx of people, but equally well motivated by the cause.
This action is an example of the craft beer sector’s ability to join forces and help each other in difficult times, demonstrating their strength and solidarity.
